@HERCULES_117@leahfiles Uh, yes it is. Sorry if the truth hurts, my friend. But you’re high on the Kool-aid. Biden isn’t even in the same universe as what’s happening now.
@abfotos@leahfiles Not skewed. Her data set is accurate. I think you’re drastically underestimating the scope of corruption in the current administration. It’s unprecedented.
@Bob_the_baker@ABC Yeah, and the last surplus we had was under Clinton. Of course Trump has to pay - it’s called judicial review, genius. Part of our checks and balances. Thank Hod for James Madison.
@DoryBeutel@ABC Not insane. Sound foreign policy. Tell me, have you ever taken a college or graduate-level class in game theory? If not, Google it. Assuming you can grasp the basics, you can see why this is not a zero-sum game. Our benefits are incredibly outsized compared to our investments.
@mattcolville There’s also a fabulous quote that I can’t find quickly, something like he jokes in Anglo-Saxon, welcomes u in Old English, etc. across several other old languages. Tolkien *sas* a professor of philology, after all…
Yes! Lewis’s quotes about his friend are awesome: “The Fellowship of the Ring is like lightning from a clear sky. . . To say that in it heroic romance, gorgeous, eloquent, and unashamed, has suddenly returned at a period almost pathological in its anti-romanticism, is inadequate. . . Here are beauties which pierce like swords or burn like cold iron; here is a book that will break your heart.”
Yes, very good example. He stated that he wanted to “create a myth for England,” and then pushed back against the idea that he used basic mythological building blocks (like those Joseph Campbell would eventually elucidate) when he did so. Works like Leaf, tho, exist on a whole other level. It’s just there staring you in the face - the proverbial monkey w cymbals from Zoolander lol
