According to @carbonplanorg they tokenized a lot of low quality carbon credits, that did not help save CO2. KlimaDAO announced to burn a large part of them, but I hope they find further solutions to ensure that their Klima-tokens actually contribute saving CO2

2. A very prominent example so far: @KlimaDAO . I spoke to Andrew Bonneau who explained me their approach: Using Web3 infrastructure such as the Toucan Protocol Bridge they tokenize carbon credits. Those credits can then be traded or used to offset carbon footprints.

The income is distributed to all players who ensure the survival of the elefants - rangers, local communities, farmers. Whereas before they could only make money with dead elefants by selling their ivory, the local population can now make a living because those elefants live.

This is why I believe Web3 is not only more energy efficient since the merge but has the potential to help saving the planet.
