Academic conversation is 🔑
Get your Ss 🗣👂 ✏️ using this breakout room discussion place mat on Jamboard
🔹Groups of 4
🔹Write initial response in #1
🔹Take turns to share & listen
🔹Add a new 💡based on the discussion in #2
🔹Write a final group synthesis statement
I'm adding a few camera icons on my visuals for our remote learning discussion tomorrow. Students will turn their cameras off for think time & turn back on when ready to share. Another option is having students type in the chat that they are ready to share. #dg58learns#dg58pride

@MrsRyder58 Thank you so much, Megan! That would be great, and I would be so appreciative! I’ll send you a message with my email. Thank you, thank you! 😊
EVERY student wants to be successful. I think this is an important conviction for educators to hold on to as they work to chip away at the barriers to that success.
Almost every bad attitude that we perceive, can be changed if we can figure out a way to communicate hope.
Next time you sit down to assess student work, think about whether you’re identifying student strengths or weaknesses. How might the assessment process differ for the student based on each...in your mind and theirs?

@KalchbrennerELA @Simmonsknights1 I think that’s a credit to the relationships you’ve built and the environment you’ve created - all online! #rockstarteacher
Human connection and the feeling of being seen and supported are most likely to motivate students to lean into learning.

Students had a quick thinking challenge this morning for our warmup. We did the 30 Circles Challenge again and this time it was winter or holiday themed. We had cups of hot cocoa, snow globes, Rudolph’s nose, and more! #dg58learns#dg58pride#on58learns
