In our society people pick the careers they want to pursue, and typically it is specialized so people can be good at that specific thing so others don't have to. Individuals with different specialties contribute to and make up a society.

M15: In Howard Gardners' youtube video on the App generation, he mentions not depending on other peoples apps and to make your own. I personally disagree because I feel as though apps are tools in which a whole society may benefit from.

Sure there are people who make apps in order to make money, but I think its a bit hypocritical to discriminate since most people in society go to work and get a job to make money. App development may be many peoples passions and professions.

M15: In the New York Times article "Your Apps Know Where You Were Last Night, and They're Not Keeping It Secret" it states "...more than 25 other companies...sell location data or services". Privacy seems much more difficult to have nowadays.

M15: After reading Howard Gardner and Katie Davis' "Guest: Are apps becoming a human crutch?" it made me more conscious about my use of apps. It reminds me of our disconnect project showing impacts of not surrounding yourself with technology 24-7

M14: Do you think video games are beneficial to society? It is such a controversial topic. Herman Narula definitely sees the gaming industries power in economics and technological development.

M14: This module has made me wonder whether people spend more time on social media or playing video games? Both seem so integrated into many peoples daily lives.

M14: This article talks about how video game characters don't portray its people very well. For me I still think it's actually pretty cool to be a mythical creature or a viking in games.

M14: This weeks module has made me analyze my behaviors while playing video games. I'm curious what's the longest you guys have played video games in a day? In my youth I did reach about 16 hours a day pretty often.

M14: This article addresses the controversial debate going on about whether video game addiction is real. I was definitely shocked to find out that WHO has even declared it as an addiction behavior.
