If you don’t like smoking just stay home, I shouldn’t have to stop smoking in public for you. If you want to not smoke just don’t, but don’t expect me to stop blowing smoke in your face or leaving clouds of it wherever I go.

Myth: Schizophrenia is caused by bad parenting or personal weakness.
Fact: #Schizophrenia is a medical illness caused by a variety of factors including genetics, stress, substance use and trauma, among others.
“Unprecedented”- there’s no better word to describe the crisis at #CHEO. Yesterday, we reassigned our Surgical Day Unit and redeployed clinicians from all areas of the hospital to open a second Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

There are 112 Paediatric ICU beds in Ontario.
There are 122 Paediatric ICU patients in Ontario.
During the worst of Wave 3 the adult system was never pushed to 109% occupancy of physical ICU beds.
What does @ongov have to say?
OPSEU/SEFPO leaders are speaking out about Queensway Carleton Hospital’s decision to cut in-house psychologist services, putting an end to in-patient & out-patient group therapy that patients in Ottawa West rely on. https://t.co/3vepUz3wVd #onpoli @MelissaCoenraad @ChrisyTremblay
Long before COVID appeared, everyone should have been staying home when they were sick, and wearing a mask when they really needed to go out anyway. It’s incredible that we are still struggling to do this in the midst of a pandemic that has killed millions.
The @ongov actions to fix the ailing HC system so far:
-have COVID+ individuals return to work/school
-send frail elders needing LTC far from home w/o public debate
-continue to pay private agencies a premium to staff public hospitals
-consider further privatization
I have major concerns about the non biological &/or psychological issues that impact MAiD. The lack of resources to ensure quality of life and a good death are despicable.
I suspect the government’s next move will be to get rid of free rapid testing so only those sick enough to need hospitalization will access a COVID test.
This will also disconnect people’s awareness of long-term COVID consequences from the acute phase of infection.
Also, my (presumably) not immunocompromised, 3x vaccinated partner (who masks in public) just got over his 4th COVID infection in 5 months. This happened with what minimal measures we have in place.
Dissolved Science Table has deep concerns with CMOH and Ontario. Multiple erroneous decisions. @DrFahadRazak
“This is not a way to handle the pandemic at this point," Evans said. "I think it's being led by some very, very simplistic thinking." https://t.co/TlKieJgYRM
“He disagrees with the move, noting it could put further strain on Ontario's health-care system, which has seen emergency departments close for hours or days at time this summer largely due to staff shortages.” Says @DrFahadRazak
