Liebesbotschaft - from Schubert’s “Schwanengesang” (text by Ludwig Rellstab)

From my recently released album “Doppelgänger” with Helmut Deutsch

Quite a few of you commented on my warm-up exercise in one of my recent Coffee with Kaufmann posts, so I am sharing a few more details about one of my warm-up exercise here.

I’ll be using this tonight - as usual - before my performance of Cavaradossi at Opernhaus Zürich.

@tenorkaufmann @sonyayoncheva Bravi! Can’t wait!

[Christine Cerletti @ChristineCerl]

@tenorkaufmann @sonyayoncheva Beware of typos!! I’ll correct it for you: Cavaradossi and Scarpia 😂😂😂

Team Tosca at Opernhaus Zürich

Sonya, Bryn, Marco and I are preparing for our premiere on September 28th!

[Christine Cerletti @ChristineCerl]

@tenorkaufmann So happy it came out on DVD 🥰🥰‼️

[Jonas Kaufmann @tenorkaufmann]

There is something special about Doppelgänger: it is a CD/DVD combo!

This piece, Ständchen, from Schubert’s “Schwanengesang” cycle is featured on the DVD, and was captured at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City, in a staged version by Claus Guth (& pianist Helmut Deutsch ).

Helmut Deutsch and I cordially invite you to our song recital @bay_staatsoper in Munich, next Wednesday, the 23rd. July.

Here is an excerpt from a special program that was streamed during the pandemic;

[Jonas Kaufmann @tenorkaufmann]

I am looking forward to returning to Schloss Regensburg again this summer for a fun evening of arias and duets with @RWSing.

We are singing a selection of music by Puccini, Leoncavallo, Strauß und Lehár.

[Jonas Kaufmann @tenorkaufmann]

My second single from “Doppelgänger,” ‘Ich grolle nicht’ is out today!

Schumann’s “Dichterliebe” is the first lied cycle I worked on, and has stayed with me throughout my career, as has my pianist, Helmut Deutsch, also featured on this recording.

A little clip from rehearsals earlier this summer of “Pagliacci” at the Bayerische Staatsoper.

As part of the 150th Opernfestspiele, I am reprising this role twice: yesterday & July 12th. I look forward to this great role, performed in combination with “Cavalleria Rusticana.”

[Jonas Kaufmann @tenorkaufmann]

Hello from backstage at the Bayerische Staatsoper!

We have some incredible performances coming up, including a new production of “Bluebeard’s Castle/La Voix Humaine” opening Friday, July 11th.
