It was the Russians wot did it. Isn’t it always the Russians..aren’t they alway the guilty party. If it hadn’t been for Russian interference this country would have voted to remain in the U.K. Andy Burnham may not have actually used those words but that was his intended meaning. Except it was bullshit. The Russians may have committed some minor meddling, but that’s what EVERY government or international body does, just look at the EU’s track record. But it affected nothing and not just previous prime misters and security officials but even his one ministers called him out on it.

So “call me Andy” has been caught lying. Why did he do it? He clearly thought it would give him a justification for wanting to re-run the referendum. Instead it has blown up in his smugly incompetent face.
