@MeghanEMurphy Jonathan Haidt mentioned this phenomenon in The Coddling of the American Mind. Parents over-sanitizing everything makes the kid's immune system overreact to everything. Same as protecting kids from negative emotions i.e. cancel culture is psychological allergies.
