Good afternoon Crime Watch Zim. Passmore Mtangadura (46), a son, a brother, and most importantly, a father of two, was kiIIed by a man known as Satan in Unit N, Chitungwiza.

The incident started after Satan sold a cellphone that the deceased had entrusted him to keep. When Passmore went to ask for his phone back, Satan assaulted him so severely that he was left unconscious. The assault happened at around 12 noon in broad daylight, and there were many witnesses who saw what happened.

Passmore spent a week in the ICU before sadly passing away on 16 June. Satan is linked to a gang known as Black Vendetta, which is known for terrorising people in the area. The gang also believes its members are untouchable and can do as they please.

After the assault, Satan fled to Penhalonga. However, yesterday he was seen back in Unit N, openly drinking alcohol on the street. The police were called, but their first response was that only one officer was available and he could not go there alone. They later said they were looking for a Mahindra police vehicle, but nothing happened. He has still not been arrested.

What is even more painful is that the police do not appear to be taking any action. How many more people need to die before the Zimbabwe Republic Police takes action?

Can someone simply kiII another person and not face any consequences because they believe they are untouchable?

🔸Given the current climate, bringing in South African artists to perform in Zimbabwe would be a gross failure to read the room. Our brothers, sisters, relatives and friends are squatting in the rain, choked by fear and in danger of losing their livelihoods.

Now, more than ever, they need our solidarity. Let’s spare a thought for those who are victims of another round of suffering, having fled poverty, hunger and @ZANUPF_Official’s general reign of terror.
