Jeremy the Crow in this scene spies the amulet that Mrs. Brisby is wearing around her neck. He has always wanted a sparkly of his own. The idea of a sparkly came from one of my aunts in real life, who forever was buying sparkling jewelry. Her name was Ada Wallace, she always made me smile whenever she appeared wearing new jewelry that glittered. I thought in the creation of the crow, that crows in real life are attracted to sparkly things and collect them. - Don
