Proud to share that I successfully defended my #PhD#thesis on mathematical modeling and stochastic simulations applied to biomedical data. Many thanks to my research group @AppSysBio and the @LeibnizHKI. Grateful for this challenging time and excited for what is coming next!

In the Portuguese league yesterday. Alberto Costa(Porto) spat on a Famalicão player Sorriso intentionally. That was a straight red card incident but VAR didn't want to see it and the referee completely ignored. A huge scandal😳🤯

Elfer & #VAR Chaos->Qualität fehlt
#DFBPokal #FCBRBL Hoffentlich entscheiden heute die Teams die Partie…
Aber was Schiri Boss Kircher gleich ändern könnte:
Keine Seilschaften&keine kruden Argumentationen nach dem Spiel…

Unabhängig davon obs ein Foul war oder nicht (wars nicht) ist eine solche Argumentation eines Bundesliga-Schris absolut alarmierend. Nach der Logik muss ja jede Schwalbe in der ein Abschluss hätte erfolgen können ein Foul sein, hört der sich eigentlich selber zu?
Hoffenheim coach Christian Ilzer on the first penalty awarded to Bayern: "A clear wrong decision. There's no need to discuss it, everyone saw it. There was absolutely no foul. 75,000 people in the stadium were looking forward to a top match here. I feel a bit sorry for them that it turned into this game with one player less"
Sporting director Andreas Schicker: "It's a pity that a top game was taken away from the fans in the stadium and at home by referee Stieler. In my opinion it was an offensive foul by Díaz. I have no understanding for that. We saw a game where many of the people involved on the pitch on both sides showed a great performance, but one [the referee] was overwhelmed"
Major cheat code in life: Respond to patterns, not individual events. One missed text means nothing. Ten missed texts means something. Don't overreact to single data points. Watch the trend. People tell you who they are over time. Believe the pattern.
When you get defensive about feedback, you fail twice. You fail to learn today, and you fail to encourage people to keep teaching you tomorrow.
If you can't handle the truth, people stop telling you the truth.
A key to growth is showing that you're coachable.
🚨Dear #scienceTwitter,
As a #newPI trying to publish solid #microbiology#infectionbiology work while surviving unexpected government budget cuts, I need your help!😢
Do you have suggestions of journals a bit "under the normal radar" with reasonable #APCs?
Thank you🙌🏻💚
