A possible Eucharistic miracle is under investigation in Guatemala.

The Parish of El Niño Dios, cathedral of the Diocese of Santa Rosa de Lima, reports that a consecrated Host was placed in water after an attempted profanation.

Instead of dissolving as expected, the Host reportedly remained intact and later developed reddish spots that appeared to resemble blood.

Church authorities are now investigating the case.
