Some fantastic contributors in this report. Great to see the food environment and industry influence taking centre stage. Hopefully we finally see a strategy/plan/framework materialise into action.

[1/2] We know ads influence how much junk food we eat.
We know eating unhealthy food is linked to avoidable disease inc many cancers, respiratory, heart disease & mental health disorders.
Restricting ads will help⬇️the no. of people experiencing & dying from these diseases.
Deeply concerning & disappointing that Smashed, a school-based programme funded by multinational alcoholic beverage company Diageo, is being allowed to tour schools in Wales ⬇️

Really disturbed to see this in @Tesco yesterday. These sugary / ultra processed products are not good choices for growing children’s school snacks or lunch boxes. Get with the times please Tesco! @OHA_updates@Food_Foundation
@ProfKarolSikora It's naive to assume that people make decisions in a vacuum, free from the persuasive tactics of corps that profit from those very habits. Look around. How much advertising do you see for junk food, alc, gam etc? Edu, although important, doesn't outweigh corp and enviro influence
@phupnorth I often struggle with books, so I'm keen to see what people suggest. I did enjoy Bad Science and The Health Gap, perhaps because I managed to get to the end!
We’re asking residents in Wakefield aged 18 - 34 to complete our survey about gambling, to help inform and develop some of our health services.
You can also find the survey on the Citizen Coin app and receive 1 Coin for taking part.

The announcement in today's #KingsSpeech to restrict junk food advertising and the sale of energy drinks is very welcome and comes at a time when rates of obesity and malnutrition in children & young people are rising.
