The Public Office (Accountability) Bill will create new laws that potentially significantly impact NHS managers and those who have for years covered up, lied and avoided accountability in past scandals:
@Rebeccasmt MH care has been rationed for years. There's waiting lists to get on waiting lists, with 8+ yr waits.
Please look into trusts removing people from waiting lists and discharging them from services without being seen to con @wesstreeting into believing waiting lists are going down.
@Bishop_Beesley@wesstreeting@AnasSarwar Or discharging them from services, which has the effect of bringing waiting lists down. I know of a hospital trust that did a mass discharge of patients in the last few weeks, even though they still needed care, it's a con. "Lies, damned lies and statistics"
@Shrink_at_Large Well they'll be voted out at the next election and be out looking for work. People have long memories, they won't forget this betrayal. Neither will their families, friends or relatives.
@trewvs They add that diagnosis to records without assessment or even seeing the patient but this still shocks me. The people involved in this negligence should be fired, never to work again.
@AlisonHoltBBC@247Compassion I'm glad the parents managed to be heard after the appalling failures of the Trust.
This negligence is routine. I saw dangerous safety failures visiting a ward & emailed the director. He ignored me. A few days later someone took their life. Director's response *People die".
@wesstreeting The patient will be king, says Streeting. He doesn't quite say what this will look like beyond transparency and an outcomes focus.
That's it. No mention of the threat of junior doctors strikes.
@wesstreeting The real truth and scandal is the NHS is reducing the waiting lists by DISCHARGING people off them, not by treating them. Facts and figures and a bit of honesty please @wesstreeting
@RFHunt1 “It does not cost NHS hospitals and their staff more to be kind, compassionate and diligent within their duties."… Except many of us who have had involvement with NHS as patients, know that sometimes these attributes are absent. 😢
I'm in court for the second day of the trial over the death of Alice Figueiredo at Goodmayes Hospital in east London. It is only the second time a corporate manslaughter charge has been brought against an NHS Trust
Hospital ward manager Benjamin Aninakwa and @NELFT have been found guilty of Health & Safety failures over the death of a patient, but not guilty of manslaughter. Alice Figueiredo took her own life at Goodmayes Hospital in July 2015.
I have said for a while that the qualifications of NHS staff need to be checked as I honestly think that some are notqualified to do their job .The only reason that I think they are not checked is because of the shock we would get when we realise how many would need to be sacked
@Keirwales Need to get serious with fighting back now.
Most of time the diagnosis is unsafe - added to records without assessment or patient history.
This negligence needs to be challenged & reported to their regulatory body. If Trust using unqualifieds to 'diagnose' then CQC and PHSO.
@RITB_ Agree, it's as if it's a signal to further abuse & disbelieve already harmed people.
It's 8 years wait for an ADHD assessment yet PD is added instantly by unqualified randoms without assessment or meeting the person.
Needs staff/CEO's losing their jobs before change will happen.
@fiona_santosha @Keirwales Still goes on, it's a national scandal. PD's added to records without assessment by unqualified randoms.
This leads to vulnerable girls & young women unable to get help for already diagnosed conditions & allows abusers to further abuse them.
Enquiries/prosecutions essential.
