In 1917, Black soldiers of the 24th Infantry Regiment in Houston, Texas, endured daily Jim Crow humiliations. After police beat a soldier and assaulted a Black woman, over 100 troops marched into the city, triggering a shootout that killed 15 white residents and 4 soldiers.
The U.S. military responded with rushed court-martials of over 60 soldiers in under 24hrs, executing 29 and sentencing 41 to life. Viewed as retaliation rather than justice. The Houston Riot of 1917 is a reminder of America’s harsher punishment of Black resistance to racism.
Trump has just destroyed the US beef industry. No country in their right mind is going to import US beef.
After Trump cut funding for Screwworm monitoring programs, the dangerous flesh-eating parasite has been found in US cattle for the first time since 1966.
I guarrantee that I'd be destroyed if Mae loses her home. She frequently experiences flares and is not built for the streets.
