Many researchers spend more than 25% of their time each year simply applying for funding.
Funding our current grant schemes adequately will help to minimise this waste.
The next Uro-Lit Live is March 25 at 4 PM Eastern (3 PM Central | 1 PM Pacific) and will focus on recent publications pertaining to urinary tract infection. The following authors will present salient findings in their publications and the relevance to their field, with ample time following presentations for participant discussion:
Urinary biochemical ecology reveals microbiome-metabolite interactions and metabolic markers of recurrent urinary tract infection – Michael Neugent, PhD
Urobiota analysis and genome-wide association study in pediatric recurrent urinary tract infections and vesicoureteral reflux – Miguel Verbitsky, PhD

NHMRC Investigator Grants out today.
A devastating day for many. I have already received messages from some of the best researchers I know who have missed out.
The senior levels had a cutoff of 5.93 (females), 6.2 (males) - according to my sources.
The impact will be wide spread.
The damage being done at the moment to the sector is totally unacceptable. We need to do a lot more to support our research community.
🧪 The EAT-UP trial, funded by the Medical Research Council, will test the best treatment for #chronicUTI in 200 women across 5 UK hospitals.
It compares full therapeutic dose antibiotics + Hiprex vs the current NICE “standard of care” for recurrent UTI.
Recruitment starts now, results expected within 2.5 years.
Eligible women (18+, 3+ months of symptoms) can apply: [email protected]

@BradSpellberg@MartinBelfield@ABsteward@BradSpellberg that is UNLESS the patient has UTI symptoms. Which is a simple thing for a doctor to find out by asking the patient if they have UTI symptoms, or just a sore arm.
