Read the open letter from co-organizers of the 2023 Asian American Literature Festival. We join our community partners in condemning the cancellation of this year’s festival & calling on the @smithsonian to be accountable for the harms they’ve caused

On July 5th the Asian American Literature Festival was suddenly canceled by @smithsonian leadership, just weeks in advance. Without explanation, they erased months of planning work and canceled a unique and historically significant event.

Plot: a homophobic cop gets into a ghost marriage with a gay man. He now must help his (dead) husband so he can get out of the marriage. This is one of the best Taiwanese films I've seen in recent years. It's funny, it's stylish, it's culturally relevant.
