How do we reconcile this?
In a country where serious offenders slip away, escape justice, or are granted bail within hours, a paralyzed professor was forced to spend his most productive years behind bars on baseless charges. The injustice is deafening.

not in the state of his birth or his work, but far away, in a different corner of this vast nation. A nation that prides itself on being the largest democracy. Twice, the courts acquitted him and five others, but they remained imprisoned, held captive by the cruel indifference.

Prof. Saibaba, a man living with polio-induced paralysis, was a scholar, poet, and professor—yet, he spent the last 10 years of his life behind bars on an unproven allegation of having ties to the Communist Party. He was confined to the harsh isolation of the Anda Cell.

This morning, I was overwhelmed with sadness and disbelief. Until a day ago, I hadn’t heard of Prof. G.N. Saibaba—a name that should have been celebrated for his resilience and brilliance, but instead, I learned of him through the heartbreaking news of his passing.
