Managed to get my second successful intubation on the road. It’s given me so much confidence in attending these high pressure, time critical jobs. I would highly recommend all student paramedics to consider doing a good few shifts with critical care or advanced paramedics.

Wow not been on here in ages, been so busy! Well quick update.... I’m about 4/5 weeks away from qualifying, I have a job offer, just need to get my C1 license to confirm. Done my elective with Critical care paramedics. Was awesome! So much exposure, 6 arrests in 3 days...

Plus a 2 big RTC’s, one of which was fatal, numerous seizures, ?subarachnoid Haemorrhage which resulted in HEMS performing an RSI, 3 other jobs with HEMS, 1 job with HART, a patient with an open skull fracture, and a house fire. Got to lead an arrest for the first time...

Only a week left of my summer break and iv not done any uni work at all 😩. Looking forward to getting back out on the road though and have got my first shifts booked with a critical care paramedic, so hopefully be some good experiences and attend a few interesting jobs!

@Renvickers999 @amy_kyle I know, I’ve seen other members of staff get extremely pissed off because they are being ignored. I’ve also had colleagues voice their frustrations when they have seen me being ignored. Like you say, the least you expect is professionalism and a bit of respect.

@amy_kyle As a Student I’m constantly being ignored at Handover and then get asked questions to which I’ve already stated the answer. I’ve ended up just telling them to read the paperwork if they can be bothered 😑

@Katie_W1994 I usually put in a respectable performance... but something went wrong today! 😂. I stayed on the cider (my usual). No shots or anything else! I just bailed after 8 ciders! Everyone else is still out which upsets me 😭

@ejallcott Absolutely not! I’m now in a very cold bath trying to cool down.... and not drown 😂. Although Dominos and football/boxing tomorrow eases the shame 😂

@Katie_W1994 Was originally going out tomorrow for champions league and boxing. Went out today to be sober for said events! Went a bit too hard a bit too early! First to come home 😩... and it’s still light out! Here comes the vomit comit! 🤢

Actually enjoyed today at uni! Makes such a difference when you have somebody that actually knows how to teach, is engaging and makes things relatable. Shame today is our only lecture with him for the rest of our time at uni 😕
