In his latest @Forbes article, @ChuckBeames, Chairman of the Board at SpiderOak, explores why the real significance of a potential @SpaceX IPO isn't its valuation. It's what it represents: a broader shift toward commercially driven innovation, competition, and resilient infrastructure that is reshaping both economic and national security priorities.
That future extends far beyond launch and satellites. At SpiderOak, we see it in the growing importance of secure, resilient technologies and services that support mission-critical operations across space, defense, and the tactical edge.

Excellent piece by @chuckbeames in @Forbes 👏🏼
History won’t remember the IPO valuation, it will remember who had the vision to build the industrial base for the new space age.
Proud to call Charles a friend and fellow thought leader on space technology and dual-use aerospace. Beyond his sharp strategic mind, he’s incredibly generous in our Miami-Dade community, dedicating real time to @FIU and @FIUPresident Jeanette Nuñez to develop the talent we need for a thriving space economy, both here in South Florida and across the nation, including his important work advancing Golden Dome.
True leadership. True patriot. 🚀🇺🇸
In this months @Forbes op-ed we are exploring how SpaceX and the emerging space economy signal a new industrial era defined by private capital, national strategy, and rapid technological convergence.

TrustPoint has been awarded a rare fully government-funded TACFI to accelerate deployment of our GPS-independent PNT architecture across space and ground systems, reflecting strong demand for resilient PNT in GPS-denied environments.

Gen Tav Taverney nails it: in a space race defined by speed more than anything else, a Continuing Resolution gives away the one thing we cannot recover: time. Space superiority will never be maintained on autopilot.
The Strait of Hormuz is not just a maritime flashpoint - it’s a preview and example of space warfare.
The lesson - resilience comes from scale; deploy now, not later.

No one in Washington better understands GPS and how it must lead us all into the future than Lisa Dyer and @GPS4Life.
@TrustPointGPS is honored to be a part of her esteemed team!

In an article for @Forbes, TrustPoint Chairman @ChuckBeames outlines why the US must move faster to complement + strengthen GPS as electronic warfare intensifies.
As adversaries work to disrupt navigation and timing, and drones + autonomy multiply, one PNT source isn’t enough.
Fantastic article by my good friend Doug Bryson, a true legendary intel officer. His story as a young Baltimore cop in the 70s is a powerful reminder that initiative and cohesion still win against the odds.
On The X
Fifty years ago today a Baltimore City police officer was killed and five others wounded in what remains the bloodiest day in the history of the department. ‘On the X’ is neither ‘based on’ nor ‘inspired by’ a true story; it is one.

🚀 Miami’s Next Frontier: Aerospace, Aviation & Space
At the 2026 Miami Economic Forum, hosted by the Economic Club of Miami, leaders from academia, government, and industry came together to answer a big question:
Can Miami become a global hub for aerospace and space innovation?
Moderated by Tyler Johnson (@tylerjohns4927) of @eMergeAmericas, this panel featured:
• @JeanetteNunezFL (FIU / Space Florida)
• @RobJGonzalezFL (Miami-Dade County)
• @MDCProvost Dr. Malou C. Harrison (Miami Dade College)
• Charles Beames (SmallSat Alliance)
The conversation made one thing clear:
👉 The future isn’t just on Earth—it’s in space, data, and national security innovation
Key themes included:
✈️ Building a world-class aviation & aerospace workforce
🎓 Aligning education with real industry needs
🛰️ Investing in research, satellites, and emerging technologies
🏗️ Creating opportunity through initiatives like a potential spaceport at Miami Executive Airport
🌎 Positioning Miami as a serious global hub—not just a destination
As @ChuckBeames put it:
“Forget Silicon Valley—Miami should think of itself as ‘Space Valley.’”

I sat down with @MiamiTodayNews and @AbrahamGalvan_ to discuss building Miami-Dade into an aerospace hub 🚀
From education to manufacturing to flight, we are creating a full pipeline of opportunity ✈️
This is how you build a future-ready economy 👇🏻
Thank you to @FIUPresident for the invitation to tour @FIU_CEC alongside Colonel @ChuckBeames where we had the chance to meet the incredible SEDS students who showcased rockets they’ve designed and built for national competitions 🚀
It was a pleasure to welcome Miami-Dade County Commissioner Roberto J. Gonzalez and aerospace industry leader Chuck Beames to FIU for a visit to our College of Engineering and Computing.
Together with our Students for the Exploration & Discovery of Space, we explored the innovation, talent, and research driving South Florida forward. Grateful for the opportunity to strengthen partnerships with government officials that support student success and our region's future.
At the 2026 Miami Economic Forum, we hosted an important conversation about what may become one of the next major frontiers for Miami’s economy: aerospace and aviation.
What made this discussion especially meaningful was the range of institutions represented on stage — a reminder that the Economic Club of Miami has become a central convening point for the region’s economic ecosystem.
The panel brought together leaders from across academia, government, and the private sector:
• @FIUPresident Jeanette Nuñez, Chairman of Space Florida
• Dr. Malou Harrison , Executive Vice President & Provost of @MDCollege
• @RobJGonzalezFL, Miami-Dade County Commissioner
• @ChuckBeames Executive Chairman of the SmallSat Alliance
• Tyler Johnson (@LaowaiE), Director of National Security at @eMergeAmericas (moderator)
Together they explored the talent pipeline, research partnerships, and policy environment needed to position Miami as a serious hub for aerospace innovation, space technology, and advanced manufacturing.
From universities and government to industry leaders and investors, these are the types of conversations that happen when Miami’s economic ecosystem comes together in one place.

“Space supply chain crisis” makes a good headline, but as I told @breakingdefense, the real bottleneck is demand clarity from the DoW. Investors and suppliers are ready to scale, they just need predictable RFPs and procurement, not more hand-wringing. https://t.co/MLBmmQ4o2H
Just wrapped up an outstanding aerospace panel discussing the future of aerospace and Miami-Dade with @FIUPresident Jeanette Núñez, Colonel @ChuckBeames , and leadership from @MDCollege.
Strategic collaboration like this is how we keep Miami-Dade County leading the next generation of aerospace innovation and workforce development. 🚀🌴
Great conversations and strong leadership at last week's Miami Space Summit.
York leaders Melanie Preisser and Jon Estridge took the stage to discuss acquisition policy, national security, and how the ecosystem continues to mature.
Thanks to @ChuckBeames and the SmallSat Alliance team for hosting a stellar event!
