Other bits from @SecRollins in San Antonio:
On China: Agriculture will be at the top of Trump's list when he meets with Xi at the end of next month.
On the message to Congress on E-15: There is no excuse. It is time to pass year-round E-15.
📈Money managers staged a near record buying spree in CBOT soybean futures & options in the week ended Feb. 10 on renewed U.S.-China optimism. New net long = 123,148 contracts.
Net buying of 94k contracts was the second most for any week (#1 - 108k contracts - early May 2024).
@kannbwx@LanceHonig That will be hard to answer in 280 characters - but in short the "extra" planted acres identified from certification were obviously grain acres. This makes sense since there is a limited use for additional silage and abandonment was low this year. LH
🌽2025 U.S. corn yield comes in at a record 186.5 bu/acre. Iowa and Illinois didn't do as well as previously expected, but plenty of other states, particularly Minnesota and North Dakota, notched very strong results.
🇺🇸China bought a half million metric tons of U.S. soybeans in the week ended Nov. 27, bringing the 25/26 total to 3 mmt. Egypt was also a major bean buyer during the week. Corn sales were among the best ever for late Nov, and the total is running 30% ahead of last year.
Braden really the only one who give a shit
Playing hard is his job as the leader can only
hope the rest of the team follows suit
Diving around, crazy steals, intense defense, attacking the rim
Everyone else half assing it
🇺🇸Lots of focus on U.S. corn & soy sales, but U.S. wheat export sales as of Oct. 23 were at a 12-year high, covering 67% of USDA's 2025/26 export forecast (5yr avg is 57%).
However, global competition will be stiff, esp. from the S. Hem (Argy is currently cheapest for Jan/Feb).
