Some Reform supporters appear to have decided that anyone who prefers Restore isn't simply another voter exercising their democratic choice, they're a traitor who has stolen a vote that somehow belonged to Reform.

It didn't.

Restore voters don't owe Reform their votes. Reform has to earn them.

Abusing people because they chose another party isn't going to persuade them to come back. If anything, it's likely to achieve precisely the opposite.

Perhaps instead of calling Restore voters "cunts", Reform supporters might ask why 10.7% of voters in this by-election preferred Restore in the first place.

That would be a considerably more productive conversation.

Thank you so much to everyone who shared this post and signed the petition calling on the Scottish Government to require Police Scotland to collect data on nationality, religion, ethnicity, asylum status and gang-based ab*se.

The petition now has over 1,200 signatures 🙏🏻

The Scottish Daily Express has covered the campaign, highlighting that officers do not routinely record a suspect’s nationality and that a Freedom of Information request found nationality unknown in more than half of the child ab*se cases examined. Police Scotland has indicated it may take up to three years to start gathering nationality data, and that it does not intend to record religion, ethnicity or asylum status, or to flag gang-based ab*se.
