That is what it is. But below is your alternative.

Your alternative is putting people in charge of you who personally hate you. They are willing to tell any lie about you in order to hurt you. If you put them in charge of you they will use every possible tool of statecraft, government, and public-private partnerships to hurt you personally.

You have to choose between a side you might disagree with, and a side that actively, personally hates you. It is an easy choice.
