1) Many documents considered myth have historical locations and events. The Odyssey was used as reference to find what we believe to be the city of Troy. We even have reason to believe historical events like the “Sea Peoples” and there destruction of the late Bronze Age civilizations are alluded to in it. Doesn’t make the supernatural claims in it true.

Ma’am, I was born in America. No British passport. But I have roughly 30% English ancestry out of my purely European genes. I am quite literally, more English than you. Yet I don’t call myself English for anything other than reference to my genetic heritage. You may have been born into the culture but you lack the fundamental elements in your very DNA. You are a British national, but you are not English. They are a people with thousands of years of history and evolution. You can’t just forgo that because you were born there.

In the US, when you are being tried by a jury, they must come to a unanimous verdict. In this case, there were 12 jurors. One juror did not agree to whatever the other 11 jurors had concluded. After so much time, if the deadlock isn’t broken, the judge can declare a mistrial, meaning the trial failed to achieve a verdict. There are several options but it might mean that they will have to hold another trial until a unanimous verdict is reached with a new jury.
