This is a commercial jewellery ad using Rakhi to sell jewellery. So when people say, “This is not how people generally dress for Rakhi,” they are criticising the creative choice in a commercial, not Kriti's personal life.

Nobody went into her house to police what she wears. Wear whatever the hell you want in your personal space. But once you put it in a public commercial & use a traditional Hindu festival to sell your product, people are perfectly entitled to say, “This doesn't represent the festival we know.”

So don't turn this into a “patriarchy” issue. People have watched Kriti in films like Cocktail and nobody was policing her dressing there. Because this isn't about her personal clothing, it’s about the festival. 🤷‍♀️
