Suppose you are convinced that without God you can't survive 24 hours. Then you should understand that if you are alive, you do not have any business being incommunicado with your family for 24 hours. Yes.

Don't even leave your family stranded, let alone in a strange/foreign land. Nothing justifies it. It's better to divorce them than abandon them.

Nature abhors a vacuum; everyone has a stretch limit to what they can take. Patience and irresponsibility don't work together. So if someone steps in to help, we shouldn't be too quick to amplify the reaction over the action.
