@Adebayoadesanya Exactly, it was kinda a culture shock for real. It also shows that we have the Nigerian English and vocabulary, we just donโt talk about it because some people donโt realize itโs peculiar to Nigerians
I came across a Changan today and noticed something I genuinely wasn't expecting
A BMW engine! ๐ญ
Before the Chinese car lovers come for me, I need someone to explain this one.
What exactly is going on here? ๐
Especially when buying Chinese vehicles.
Make sure you have professional technicians for them (Changan, Maxus) if you are not buying direct from Mikano. Also pls buy global spec and not the vehicles built for their domestic market.
When buying any car without a manufacturerโs warranty (like the case with Nigerian dealerships) always go with a professional technician who has a proper diagnostic scanner.
A car showing just 5,000 km on the dashboard can still:
- Have hidden faults.
- Need parts replaced due to manufacturing defects or early wear.
- Be affected by an unresolved manufacturer recall.
Low mileage doesnโt automatically mean a car is problem-free. A diagnostic scan and proper inspection can save you from expensive surprises.

-Mr. Peter Obi on News Central.
Hundreds of civilians feared dead following airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force yesterday against a market in Jilli, Borno State in northeast Nigeria.
According to the army, "scores of [ISWAP] terrorists" were killed, however upon further confirmation it became evident that the vast majority of victims were civilians, as reported by local residents, community leaders and relatives.
These airstrikes come as retaliation, or collective punishment, for the recent ISWAP attacks against the Ngamdu and Benisheikh military camps, which resulted in considerable human and material loss including the loss of a Brigadier General.
The Jilli market is currently managed and controlled by ISWAP, which explains the movements of militants in and out, however it is not used as a base of operations for the group, who prefers to lay its positions away from civilians to make sure no locals leak their movements to the army.
In December 2025, the NAF carried out similar airstrikes against fishermen living under ISWAP territory on the Lake Chad shores, resulting in several civilian deaths as well.
