@halfwall_hockey Was also thinking about Wyatt Cullen. Is he top 10 guaranteed. Heard he went from 5 feet smth to 6 2 and that is partly why his numbers weren’t there but he dominated 18u. Also comes from hockey family.
Just gonna point this out. 13/15 D who have played a game these playoffs for the #StanleyCup finalists are 6'1 or taller. The 2 guys who aren't (Gostisbehere, Walker) are both 5'11, two of the more elite puck movers/transition D in the league and both are insanely mobile/shifty. The formula isn't complicated, but keep bashing your heads against the wall demanding that small skill D are about to revolutionize the game. The ones who make it are insanely talented and will continue to remain the exception rather than the rule. #NHLDraft
@CodyHunt1010@Sheng_Peng Think difference is Makar strength has been skating. Verhoeff weakness is skating that is a concern to be bc skating in modern hockey top priority.
Hearing some people say Carels is better than Reid in the Sharks space. Can someone tell me why? Feel national media is hyping Reid but I did see Carels numbers were just as good
If there was an expansion draft, assuming the rules used the 7-3-1 protection rule (7 forwards, 3 defensemen, 1 goaltender), who should your team protect?
Let’s hear it 👇
@bopuut@mjms323 I love Smith. On other threads I’ve given my argument for why I think he #1. Regardless tho the list is not crazy. Everyone has an argument for where they are at.
@SlipperyNodd@RdmHabsFan Yes agree but that’s bc Sanderson and Faber are viewed as more two way. Yes Hutson better offensively than both of them. Don’t doubt it. I personally think that those two have more two way tendencies which is why I’d chose them. Hutson amazing though
Best USA NHL players u-25 (projection + now)
Sharks Bias (this is bias I know)
1. Will Smith
—————
2. Hughes
3. Sanderson
4. Boldy
5. Cooley
6. Faber
7. L. Hutson
8. Gauthier
9. Knight
10. Caufield
11. Leonard
12. L. Hughes
13. Knies
14. Beniers
15.Buium
@RdmHabsFan You think Lane Hutson number one but couldn’t even make Olympic team? And yes Hutson amazing and I did include people who are 25 now. Regardless Hutson great I just dont have him top of my list.
@Isaac0436849198@LebronHutson Sure take smith out of it. What are your problems with the ranking. Let me guess you think Caulfield and Hutson are not high enough
@NHLlnsider67 Can see the argument they are all close. I rather have Faber bc I think he that good defensively. Think Sanderson and Hutson close but think Sanderson doesn’t play with offensive talent like Hutson. Hutson better o player but I think gap defensively is big.
@LebronHutson Argument for Smith would be his projection. As a sharks fan I don’t think he better than Lane is in this moment but think he could be. Averages near ppg playing against top lines at 21 and is not near NHL body, speed yet. regardless tho I put him 1st to separate him to avoid bias
@EconaNonGrata Think Cutter Gauthier and Caulfield are great example of the ranking. Caulfield is a lot better right now than Gauthier but Gauthier exceeding expectations and looks to be better than Caulfield. Someone like Boldy though doesn’t have high expectations like Hagens but is a beast
