🐔Exploit cassava waste usage in #poultry farming
💡A recent study, led by Izuchukwu Martin Aroh (now a Ph.D student at Teagasc, @teagasc) and colleagues from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (@Mouau_EDU ) and University College Dublin (@ucddublin), investigates the potential of incorporating cassava waste in #broilerchicken diets to address agricultural waste challenge while reducing feed costs in #Nigeria 🇳🇬.
📊 Key findings after 8 weeks:
✅ 10% cassava waste inclusion: Boosted weight gain, feed efficiency, and carcass yield.
❌ 15% inclusion: Less effective than the control diet.
💰 Economically: Both 10% and 15% diets were more cost-efficient, showing promise for sustainable poultry farming.
