BREAKING: The EU vows to impose more sanctions on Russia following the Bucha Massacre and "atrocities committed by the Russian army in Kyiv liberated region"
Russia’s alleged actions in Bucha sadly aren’t new. They’re part of a playbook honed in Chechnya and Syria. Yet remember there are Americans who have been praising and defending Russia and Putin publicly for years. Russian media advertises that praise. Putin is emboldened by it.
At least 280 people found dead after Russian forces leave Bucha, a village near Kyiv where streets are littered with bodies - AFP
⚠️: Viewer discretion is advised
This is the Ukrainian city — Bucha, after being deoccupied. Dead bodies of civilians with hands tied and bullet holes in their heads from behind. This is 2022. Is it fascism or genocide? What's this? Europe, USA, how did we let this happen?
#Bucha and #Irpin are the new Srebrenica, more horrifying, more barbaric. Mass graves of innocent civilians shot from behind. Molested women’s bodies. Looted homes. This is undeniable evidence of russian ethnic cleansing of Ukrainians. After this #russia has no right to exist.
❗️Blacklist Putin's Terrorist State
Images of some villages freed in #Kyiv region, specifically #Bucha, are devastating. Dead people lying outside of their houses, in what can only have been a “zachistka” - systemic execution of the men of each house. This is genocide. ⤵️
It looks like scenes from a horror movie. But it is not!
This is the result of the murders of hundreds of civilians by Russian soldiers in Ukraine, in the town of #Bucha near #Kyiv.
PUTIN NEEDS TO BE STOPPED NOW!
Calling these brazen executions of civilians in Bucha a war crime would be an understatement. The U.S. and NATO must now provide all the weapons Ukraine has requested. Everything.
The best response to these sub-human actions by Russian forces is to help the Ukrainians kill them.
New Srebrenica. The Ukrainian city of Bucha was in the hands of 🇷🇺 animals for several weeks. *Local civillians were being executed arbitrarily*, some with hands tied behind their backs, their bodies scattered in the streets of the city.

Up: Jewish residents of Iasi, Romania, murdered by the Nazi allies in June 1941. Killed because they were Jewish.
Bottom: Residents of Bucha, Ukraine, murdered by Russian soldiers in March 2022. Killed because they were Ukrainians.
@tszzl Working on "world peace" (ie. making politics and geopolitics more cooperative) reduces the chance that people will cut corners on AGI to "beat the other team", reducing the chance of unfriendly AI apocalypse.
Also a lot of things are upstream of helping good AI research.
Ukrainians are far from the only ones suffering from war. Also people in Yemen, Ethiopia... just as human as Ukrainians and you are.
This is NOT a valid excuse to not care about Ukrainians today. But it does mean we should self-reflect and extend our compassion to others too.
