When Adekunle Ajasin was Governor of Ondo State, his daughter won an auction for government property. When Baba found out, all hell broke loose.
His reason? Even if he knew nothing about the process, how could he convince the public he hadn’t influenced it?
That’s integrity in leadership.
it is an unwritten rule of life that after every prolonged period of hardship and uncertainty, there is going to be a period when you are going to achieve quantum leaps across multiple areas of your life. the only requirement is that you do not give up on yourself.
My husband and I just received the biggest shock of our lives today.
We live in this compound, and there’s a three-bedroom flat occupied by a neighbor who respects my husband so much. Because of my husband’s lifestyle and the way he likes to show off whatever he buys, this man always treats him like a boss.
Anytime he sees my husband, he is always the first to greet him: “Boss, good morning.” “Boss, good afternoon.” Even his wife is very respectful.
I actually liked their lifestyle and wanted to become friends with the woman, but my husband refused. He said they were not in our class and that they were too “low” for us.
Sometimes, my husband would send this man to help him buy fuel. Other times, he would ask him to take his clothes to the dry cleaner on the next street, and the man would still go without complaining.
I once told my husband that I didn’t like the way he was always sending him around, but my husband said, “He’s my boy.”
Boy? A man whose age you don’t even know might be the same as yours! You don’t know how this man pays his rent, feeds his family, or runs his life, yet you already judged him because of where he lives.
Funny enough, yesterday he invited us to his house opening, which was today.
Omo, shame almost covered me and my husband.
We got there and saw a beautiful duplex. This man has built a whole house, while my husband doesn’t even have land yet.
Then we saw all his “boys” and everything he had achieved. That was when I found out that this man actually owns an electrical materials business.
No matter what grammar someone wants to tell me, buying fuel for ₦1,500 is too much for the common man. By Monday, transport fares will go up, and companies will not increase salaries. God abeg.
Nobody is supposed to go to work tomorrow. The whole country should be upside down by now. Why’s a litre of petrol 1500 for a country that pays 75k as its minimum wage?
A young woman was found dead in the residence of a federal minister, yet no investigation or arrest was made.
She went in fully dressed and found dead without her clothes.
You must think I am stupid to engage in silly arguments about Nigerian justice system.
A former deputy senate president is in a UK prison over a crime that won’t even get a case file if it happened in Nigeria by the way.
Don't glorify entrepreneurs who cannot write a story of how they built their business empire.
Nigeria is a country where business men who share their failures are not seen as the real deal!
Let me encourage you. If you are just starting out life with a career or a business, please opt for the slow and steady lane. Hard-work, perseverance and showing up consistently will earn you success.
Don’t joke with the power of visibility. Matter of fact, add it to your daily prayers.
And while you’re praying to be seen, keep showing up and positioning yourself so that when the opportunity comes looking, you’re ready to be found.
This is why it's crucial to get it right with the first child, especially first son. The unity and togetherness of a family in adulthood is heavily dependent on the first child. It's spiritual.
Check most of the families that have scattered or are always fighting and quarrelling. You go see say first child is weak or e no get sense
Unless you're already wealthy, there's no way you'll marry someone like this and make it in life. You can never make it. When you reach that stage where you have to save aggressively to be able to climb the next ladder or make that investment, she will pull you down. Someone like this will also use her own money to buy clothes, wigs and jewelries, while all your own money will go to household spending.
Sometimes I wonder how some Nigerians behave seriously.....
So this woman rushed her husband into the emergency unit, crying and begging the doctors to save him.
They immediately left other patients to attend to him.
Then, a few minutes later, a man arrived in suit, and she said he's her pastor.
She began insisting that the doctors should wait a bit, let her pastor pray first before they continued treatment.
The doctors were shocked but asked that at least let them secure an IV line and start fluids before "pastor" begins to pray.
This woman refused ooo, asking the doctors if they were more powerful than the God she she serves?
The doctors had to step away because she was almost obstructing emergency care and the ward was becoming chaotic because of her loud voice.
After the prayers ended, she started pleading for the same doctors to come back... but they were already engaged.
The nurse close by said to her, " Madam, emergency no dey wait for 'in Jesus' name.'".... Doctors are busy with other patients...!!! 😒
My cousin’s wife packages and sells kulikuli, she started recently, so sales never dey really move like that.
The lovely husband who plays football every two weeks around Surulere comes to the pitch with a full bag of kulikuli and sells to boys at the field, and he usually goes back home with an empty bag after football.
This is a simple act of service that money cannot buy.
Dear Blessing,
I just came across your tweet, and it truly inspired me.
To graduate with a First Class in Mathematics from UNILORIN and then earn a fully funded Master's admission in Italy is an extraordinary achievement. You have demonstrated excellence and the promise that exists in so many young Nigerians.
No young person who has worked this hard should have such an opportunity limited by the cost of getting there. It would be my privilege to support your journey by covering what is left in the cost of your relocation.
@nancy_i_i from my office will reach out to you today.
Congratulations once again. Go, excel, and continue to make Nigeria proud.
I've seen what money does to men, which is why I don't criticize men who are ordinarily great but have fallen for its wiles.
When I think of Pastor Adeboye, I keep asking myself, "what was a man of that calibre offered in order to betray his values?"
It gets me scared because you can't really comprehend the pressure until you're in same shoes as a man. Perhaps I'm not immune to the same allure but it's truly worrying that even those one reveres have an achilles heel of something so mundane.
Iran played three matches.
They drew all three.
And in every single one, they fought with heart, pride, and dignity.
But after their final match, the host nation reportedly demanded they leave immediately.
No time to recover. No time to rest. Just pack up and go.
That is not how you treat athletes.
That is not how you treat human beings.
Despite the pressure, the restrictions, and everything stacked against them, Iran kept showing resilience.
This team deserves respect, not mistreatment.
That’s the spirit of the World Cup.
