@cintah_wangui Just curious. What is the effect of delivering it outside the 60-day period particularly as to the validity of the judgement and the judge
@UsmanAbidemiEsq I can relate. A 2006 matter my firm is handling. we are still at the pre-trial stage in 2025 due to frivolous applications by the Defendants. Now they have not only petitioned the judge to NJC but have also filed an appeal challenging the striking out of their names as parties
@Ikechukwu134 You should be commended for upholding the dignity of the legal profession rather than compromising professional standards by agreeing to charge a lesser fee.
@Ikechukwu134 Accordingly, any Legal Practitioner who colluded with your client to accept a lesser fee may be liable for professional misconduct under the said Order. (2)
Here's an idea:
Instead of training a new generation of Nigerians to spend their lives being monkeys in suits just like their parents, perennially striving to be who and what they are not - and doomed to fail miserably at it - why not try something different?
Why not look at the data and see that Nigeria is already the world's 3rd largest English-speaking country, and will be the 2nd largest by the time these kids are 40, so instead of teaching them to desire to be other people, you teach them that they are important enough to be the centre of their own world?
How about you teach them that their country is destined to be a very important country in the world and that their generation will be the most important in its history, so they should focus on history, economics, commerce, geopolitics, STEM, energy, government and defence?
How about you teach a new generation of Nigerians to see themselves as people who deserve to have a seat at the table with the rest of the world as they are, and not caterpillars who must shed something about their identity before they can blossom into global butterflies?
Why are you teaching Nigerian kids that there is something undesirable about the way they talk? Why are you still passing on your low self-esteem and generational trauma to these innocent children? What did they do to deserve this?
My wife (Nneka) fled Nigeria to the United States after being maliciously and frivolously charged with attempting to hijack @flyairpeace aircraft by @PoliceNG officers while @FAAN_Official@NigeriaCAA@fccpcnigeria under @TundeIrukera did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to protect or even help her.
Major Nigerian newspapers wouldn’t even touch us let alone publish our story. @THISDAYLIVE and @vanguardngrnews published negative narratives capable of undermining us. Everyone kept quiet, waiting for the system to consume Nneka and land her in jail for a criminal offence she never committed.
An @flyairpeace lawyer informed a judge of the Federal High Court that Nneka was under @INTERPOL_HQ surveillance in Nigeria for a crime of attempted hijack of @flyairpeace aircraft which @icao was never notified about.
However, like a Goliath-slayer, @DavidHundeyin rose to the occasion, thoroughly investigated the matter, published the article in the link on my bio, wrote a book featuring the incident, sent in a letter of support for Nneka during the asylum hearing.
When judgement was finally delivered in her favour and she was granted full protection, she sent @DavidHundeyin this appreciation video. I don’t need to say much. Suffice to say that my family and I are so indebted to David that repayment is literally IMPOSSIBLE!
