I had a very substantive, hour-long conversation with President of France @EmmanuelMacron. We discussed the situation on the frontline and Ukraine’s urgent defense needs. I’m grateful to Emmanuel for his truly strategic vision and his readiness to help with exactly what our warriors require.
We also spoke in detail about strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, particularly the supply of missiles for SAMP/T systems and funding for interceptor drones. We will prepare joint decisions with France and other partners at the level of Defense and Foreign Ministers on new steps aimed at protecting our people from Russian strikes.
I would especially like to highlight our agreement on pilot training for Mirage jets – France is ready to train additional pilots using additional aircraft. We discussed our work within the Coalition of the Willing and the implementation of the agreements from our recent meeting. I thanked France for its tangible contribution to shaping and advancing the 18th EU sanctions package.
Together with our American partners, we are working to ensure that Russia feels real global pressure. Every day this war is prolonged must result in truly painful consequences for Russia.
We also coordinated our next political steps with Emmanuel. Thank you.
#GhostofYotei looks like more of the same, but for me that is a very good thing. I absolutely adored Tsushima and can't wait to lose myself in a similar world.
Today, a brilliant operation was carried out — on enemy territory, targeting only military objectives, specifically the equipment used to strike Ukraine. Russia suffered significant losses — entirely justified and deserved.
Joint Statement by the Leaders of France, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine Following the Meeting in Kyiv.
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the leaders of France, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom and Ukraine met in Kyiv.
They agreed that starting Monday, May 12, there should be a full and unconditional ceasefire for at least 30 days.
They concurred that an unconditional ceasefire by definition cannot be subject to any conditions. If Russia calls for such conditions, this can only be considered as an effort to prolong the war and undermine diplomacy.
They demanded that the ceasefire must be comprehensive – in the air, at sea, and on land.
They underlined that it requires effective monitoring, which could be successfully implemented in close coordination with the United States.
They agreed that the ceasefire should last for at least 30 days to create room for diplomacy. During this period, diplomatic work should focus on outlining the security, political and humanitarian foundations of peace.
They welcomed that the call for a ceasefire and meaningful negotiations is supported by both Europe and the United States.
They underlined the crucial importance of strengthening Ukraine’s Defence and Security Forces as the primary guarantee of Ukraine’s sovereignty and security. A key element of security guarantees to Ukraine should also be a reassurance force (Contingent).
They agreed that if Russia refuses a full and unconditional ceasefire, stronger sanctions should be applied to its banking and energy sectors, targeting fossil fuels, oil and the shadow fleet.
They agreed to pass a strong 17th EU sanctions package and to coordinate it with sanctions imposed by the United Kingdom and Norway, as well as by the United States.
They agreed to continue working on the effective use of frozen Russian assets and to discuss this at the next G7 summit.
They expressed their readiness to further strengthen Ukraine’s defence, especially the Ukrainian army. This should include funding defence resilience and investment in arms production in both Ukraine and in European countries in the framework of joint projects.
No aid has entered Gaza in over 8 weeks. Children are starving. Hospitals are lacking basic medicine.
This is the longest blockade since the war began and is completely unacceptable.
Ireland calls on Israel to lift the blockade & allow humanitarian aid in immediately.
Good documentary. I find it staggering how many Israeli's/Zionists are so tone deaf in their plans to remove Palestinians and occupy Palestine. I know any comparison to Hitler/Nazi Germany is dismissed, but you have people saying, the Bible says this is our land, so we'll take it
@JoshStrifeHayes There is only one answer to this question!
It's amazing how no game has matched the incredible narration in the Legacy of Kain series. It really does stand out as unique for that
Rescue operations are currently underway in Kharkiv following a Russian drone strike. A cynical strike. Fires broke out in several districts of the city.
Earlier today Zaporizhzhia was also brutally struck with aerial bombs. Ordinary residential buildings were damaged. Tragically, a civilian woman was killed. My condolences go to the family and loved ones. More than twenty people were wounded in this attack alone, including four children.
Overnight, Russian drones struck Odesa. Throughout the day, there were also strikes on Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and our southern regions. All of this is deliberate Russian terror that can be stopped with a single order, an order in Russia and for the Russian army. Easter proved that when there were no air raid alerts in Ukraine.
Ukraine proposed to extend the ceasefire after Easter and make it comprehensive. Our proposal to halt strikes on civilian infrastructure remains on the table as well. What’s needed is genuine readiness from Russia to engage in this conversation. There are and will be no impasses on the Ukrainian side.
Played my first couple of games of Season 2 #Tekken8.
Think I'm happy I'm not good enough for the changes to bother me too much considering the backlash
I welcome President Trump’s announcement to pause reciprocal tariffs. It’s an important step towards stabilizing the global economy.
Clear, predictable conditions are essential for trade and supply chains to function.
Tariffs are taxes that only hurt businesses and consumers. That’s why I’ve consistently advocated for a zero-for-zero tariff agreement between the European Union and the United States.
The European Union remains committed to constructive negotiations with the United States, with the goal of achieving frictionless and mutually beneficial trade.
At the same time, Europe continues to focus on diversifying its trade partnerships, engaging with countries that account for 87% of global trade and share our commitment to a free and open exchange of goods, services, and ideas.
Finally, we are stepping up our work to lift barriers in our own single market. This crisis has made one thing clear: in times of uncertainty, the single market is our anchor of stability and resilience.
My team and I will continue to work day and night to protect European consumers, workers and businesses. Together, Europeans will emerge stronger from this crisis.
#TheWhiteLotus finale is incredible. Just absolutely beautiful. It really had a bit of everything, and despite expecting some things to happen, the way they happen is still powerful. I'll be thinking about this season for a while.
We are very grateful to the United States for all the support. I’m thankful to President Trump, Congress for their bipartisan support, and American people. Ukrainians have always appreciated this support, especially during these three years of full-scale invasion.
“I support the idea of Ukraine being compensated first.”
“Second, all of those who paid should be compensated not by Ukraine, by Russia, because they started the war.”
- Emmanuel Macron
Right in Trump’s face!
