@N8Holder @BBC @BBCSounds @MusicMagazine Agreed. Handel certainly made lots of money from his business ventures but he wasn't at all interested in the impact of his activities on other people.
As recorder players we do have to study Handel. But other Baroque composers are available - Telemann, Vivaldi, Bach, Corelli..

@ABRSM Our children do exams, but we tell them they don't have to be technically perfect, and that the result is not a pronouncement on their whole musical identity. Exams are a snapshot of one person on one day. Making music together is an on-going experience which can last a lifetime.
