I still can't believe it's true.

Before all else, Charlie was an incredible man of God who's message to young people transcended politics and guided them towards a message of hope and eternal life in Christ.

He was a husband and a father who put family first and encouraged others to do so. He was driven by unrelenting conviction and a true love of this nation. He inspired millions, and he will continue to do so.

May God rest his soul and comfort his family in this time of mourning.

Our hearts are broken for the victims and families in Texas who are enduring unthinkable loss. Emily and I, along with the entire Hunt family, are praying for you, grieving with you, and standing with you as your community begins to heal.

In times of tragedy, we are called to unity, compassion, and support, not division and blame.

Yet some on the left have chosen this moment of heartbreak to spread outrage, misinformation, and cruelty.

Let me be clear: this is not a political moment. And after the disgraceful commentary we’ve witnessed this week, I’ll take no lectures on decency or compassion from those who used this moment to attack instead of uplift.

You know who you are, and you should be ashamed.

I am grateful for our first responders who continue to risk it all to save lives and recover victims, and I’m grateful to President Trump for his leadership and assistance to Texas.
