Qwell is stepping back, not stepping down.
Stepping back means she's more on the sidelines and not as involved now, still on the team. Stepping down would mean she actually is leaving the team

Imo, nuance is truly dead amongst fandoms.

You can give someone grace AND acknowledge their many wrongdoings.

You can be critical of someone AND thinking they're not a demon deserving of harassment.

Yet, many refuse to do both and will instead cling to hivemind behaviors.

Just read the statement, I'm glad to hear she turned down the possibility of further legal threats and that she'll be stepping down to reflect and hopefully contact us in the near future.
