“Before investigating any matter, the FIA should apologize to me for fabricating a baseless case against me like the cipher case.

After the cipher, as Prime Minister, I conveyed a demarche to the Americans to protect Pakistan's sovereignty and to make my nation proud, and I presented the facts to my people.

The two main objectives of the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report were to identify those responsible for the tragedy and to point out mistakes.

I referred to the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report so that we could learn from past mistakes.

In the context of the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report, the criticism of General Yahya Khan is based on his political decision-making.

General Yaqub and Admiral Ahsan, stationed in East Pakistan, advised Yahya Khan against military action in East Pakistan, for which they had to resign.

The extraordinary similarity between the events of the 1970s and today's situation is a cause for concern for every sensible Pakistani.

In the 1970s, the country was divided; today, our economy is in ruins with minimal chances of improvement,

The attempt to revive the economy through the SIFC has failed miserably.

Crushing the country's largest and most publicly mandated party through lawlessness will not improve the economy.

The FIA should investigate who abducted Azhar Mashwani's brothers and for what crime.

A leaked Pakistani diplomatic cable has reignited controversy surrounding the removal of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, with his supporters claiming the document supports allegations of US involvement in his ouster.

Investigative outlet Drop Site published what it described as the original classified “cypher” repeatedly referenced by Khan as proof of a foreign conspiracy against his government.

The document reportedly details a meeting between Pakistan’s then ambassador to Washington and senior US State Department official Donald Lu shortly before Khan was removed through a no-confidence vote in April 2022.

The redactions next to the addressee list at the end of the cypher are significant. They point both to the source of the leak and to who was not the source.

Contrary to some speculation, the copy released by Drop Site did not originate from the prime minister’s office. It came from within the Pakistani military, from an individual disillusioned with the direction of the country’s leadership.

The cable was distributed to multiple recipients, all of whom retained their copies through the end of 2024. Drop Site obtained its copy from one of those military recipients.
