‘At every location in the world, across every hour of the day, the light is different depending on the earth’s position in relationship to the sun. Normally, you could say, we don’t really ever ‘see’ light itself, rather its effect on the surface it hits. The colour experiments for me are ephemeral portraits of the many different types of light, and as this ephemeral quality changes depending on its surroundings, you could give it a consciousness. If light could express itself, I would propose its voice would be the full colour spectrum.’

🖼️ On the occasion of Lifeworld appearing across public screens in London, NYC, Berlin and Seoul, discover a series of four hand-signed prints by @olafureliasson continues the his long-standing investigation of colour phenomena.

Titled Your opaque lifeworld, Your soft lifeworld, Your tender lifeworld and Your gentle lifeworld, choose between the complete set of four (£1,000 +VAT) or an individual print (£300 +VAT) for a limited time.

"These four circular artworks offer no vanishing point or corner to rest your eyes on. With nothing at their centres, you’re left searching through the array of blurry colours that fade smoothly from one to the other. Each print is created by overlaying minute dots from the CMYK colour palette, similar to how pixels on a screen combine to form images. Displayed together, the blurs represent four different atmospheres from Lifeworld." Olafur Eliasson

“Art makes the world felt. It allows us to think beyond the limits of what we can imagine,” says Olafur Eliasson, whose 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 premiered at midnight in Times Square, casting shifting colors and abstract forms over the city’s heart. Eliasson’s work blurs one of the world’s most recognizable spaces—a mirror to the uncertainty and possibility ahead. New Yorkers including Kembra Pfahler, Gloria Sutton, Brandon English, Alfredo Jaar, and more gathered to experience this fleeting, kaleidoscopic vision.

🗽 Throughout November, 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 will light up Times Square every evening at 11:57pm, as part of the @TSqArts Midnight Moment programme.

🎥 Now it’s your turn! Upload a video experiencing 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 in London, Seoul, Berlin, New York or online via @WeTransfer , and enter in with the chance of winning a hand-signed set of prints by Eliasson worth £1,000. Hashtag #Lifeworld

Lifeworld is an invitation to contemplate who you are and where you are, here and now. The artwork relaxes your sense of depth and time in relation to everything that surrounds you, showing the immediate site anew. The rapid circulation of bodies and vehicles in real life, and information online, dissolves into the soft, slow, liminal perspectives of Lifeworld.
