@SenatorHassan@CASAaddiction @senrobportman We hear a lot about stigma associated with addicts, but unfortunately there seems to be stigma within the addiction community surrounding medication assisted treatment. We need to eradicate this stigma and embrace all forms of treatment.
@medillonthehill @shelbyfleig The thing people don't tend to realize is that addiction can happen to ANYONE, but the general public still has this stereotypical addict image in their minds that just prolongs the stigma. It's a shame.
@SGottliebFDA It's nice to see that medication assisted treatments are getting more acceptable. They are a necessity in this struggle against addiction!
@OpCleanRecovery An interesting read, but I don't think we would be able to guess if someone is going to become addicted or not. It can happen to just about anyone...
@ASAMorg They always say an image is worth a thousand words and I think it really applies here. Excellent work and effort here to capture the truth behind addiction.
@TOPAC_USA Makes you think twice about long term effects of drug abuse. We get so distracted by the short term issues that we don't give any thought to what happens down the road...
@TOPAC_USA So many people think that addiction is out on the streets and doesn't touch the people around them, but the reality is that ANYONE can be affected... No one is invincible.
@OpCleanRecovery Great perspective here. People often talk about the steps getting into recovery, but we need more about what to do after you have made that decision and how to stay strong.
@RecoveryTrek Interesting solution to the problem. It would require a lot of ground work and a lot of funding. We also wouldn't be hitting the older crowd who are out of school etc.
