@RichardGarriott Must admit when I saw "new one" and Richard Garriott pop up in my notifications, I had other hopes. This is one of three accounts I'll log into the embodiment of all that is wrong with the internet to interact with. Mainly because Ultima and UO changed my world.
@SnepOfTheWest@RichardGarriott Read Explore Create and you'll know the story as well as the visit to the Titanic, going to the space station, building the largest haunted house in Texas (and the US, I think), and not doing a nose dive into a dresser drawer of cocaine. Good book, inspired my YouTube strategy.
@RueNahcMohr A small breeze passes as Smarter (Mr. Circuits to you) reaches to hand Rue a shop towel and reminds him that impostor syndrome is real and those followers are there regardless because Rue posts neat buzz'n'beeps and the odd click-whir--nothing more, nothing less.
Just a subtle reminder that I'm on bsky and I haven't been using that nifty simulpost thingy for all my socials because I'm lazy.

Something Sonoff this way comes.
January 29th, in the year of our superintendent, 2026.
I can tell you that it's one of the banes of my existence; An IoT device I normally despise.
Has it changed my mind? Well, if I told you that, you wouldn't have any reason to watch the video
I don't recommend content often. I want to to have real weight and never feel disingenuous when I do. That being said, my son has a new YouTube channel (his first). He makes lures. If you like that stuff, join his journey as he develops his skills.

I am presently working on videos for a new Sonoff device as well as two new Shelly devices. I will also be doing some updates on devices I've installed in previous videos and have now had for a while. Spoiler alert: Cheap stuff is cheap.
Which is it, Amazon? Has it shipped or is it at the carrier facility? Has the definition of the word "shipped" changed since I was in school? Has the past participle been removed by executive order? I need to know these things.
Being on here feels simultaneously like walking an empty street during an apocalypse and having the Battlestar Gallactica problem--wondering who's real and who's not while constantly feeling like you're betraying someone.
Contrary to popular opinion, I am alive. There's stuff afoot and I think it'll be fun. Next, some digs at ol' Tommy A.E. and a quick skim of the history of the outlet should be out this week. Then, I have a new Sonoff smart plug to review on Thursday for its release.
I realize we're three days in, but if anyone else would like to try to hit a word goal for this month (or any), there's a place you can track your writing projects. Here's an example:

I am presently experiencing distractspiration, or a moment of inspiration that motivates you to do something other than the thing you were doing due to previously being inspired.
Not that I'm super active on the socials anyway, but I wanted to let everyone who sees this stuff that I'll be even more silent for the month. My wife and I are doing Novel November. (not NaNo)
While we no longer participate in NaNoWriMo officially, my wife and I still attempt a 40k+ word novel every November. We've decided to add Outline October in preparation for what we now refer to as Novel November. Just a little added distraction in strange times.
