Just an hour into Regenerate #CentralSouth Annual Conference and already feeling energized by reconnecting with industry colleagues. I'll be speaking on the Planning Panel a little later on - If you are around today, please come and say hi! #BizSouthEvents
Marion Baeli on the Retrofit Imperative for #CentralSouthUK - such a well-rounded agenda: (new) housing, retrofit, and planning. We know that 80% of buildings that will be in use in 2050 have already been built -- so Retrofit at Scale is critical for the built environment.
Random query for others in #London - is anyone else's hayfever this year better than normal? Was enjoying the sensation without assigning cause until husband posited it could be due to the ULEZ, & am wondering if that could be true. Anyone else less personally attacked by spring?
We've launched an important new resource to connect researchers and policymakers.
The Areas of Research Interest Database lets you see the research questions Government departments are interested in, plus UKRI-funded work by area, all in an easy-to-use interface. (1/3)
Anybody who wants to work in urban or transport planning, highways teams or transport authorities should, as part of their induction, spend 8 hrs walking around their city pushing an empty pram while carrying a toddler who is refusing to get into said pram.
The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do the math on investing in better mobility.

It’s a full house! Really buzzing to get going on tonight’s Annual Lecture event at @Arup talking about Co-designing Equity, and how we can bring #LGBTQ and #BAME lived experiences into the work we do designing spaces around us. #WeAreArup#BuildingEquality
@EmilyKerr36 Yes! It often occurs to me that cycling is the most joyous way to commute to work. It has the opposite effect to driving and even public transport: I feel more connected to those around me, I put fewer walls up, I can interact more, and I am happy and energised!
