Bryan Steil is different from the rest of the #wisGOP delegation in Congress. Steil was appointed to the UW Board of Regents by Scott Walker and then annointed for #WI01 by Paul Ryan. Steil is their "Chosen One."

3) Even more perplexing, Evers crushed the large field of candidates in the democratic primary. The vast majority of those candidates were moderate progressives, slightly left with ideas and selfless goals in the Wisconsin Way tradition. They were beaten badly.

A powerful wealthy minority hate societal disruption and want a weak governor in Wisconsin. Preferably a Democrat who is seen as liberal or moderate to better help keep the "left" and true progressives in check. Evers "peoples" budget was deliberately unworkable for stagecraft.

2) Scott Walker did everything the powerful wealthy Right wanted, but because he became a constant public flashpoint on every issue, he became expendable. Evers was the only viable pinch-hitter available for them in the 2018 democratic primary field.

@JonathanEugster @DanRShafer If he was true to his "peoples" budget, yes. Worrying about blame in this respect is a loser. Losing fed school money based on a delay in the budget is doubtful, but even with it, the state had it's own surplus for funding schools instead of tax cuts.
