I am truly disheartened to hear of the passing of Mayor Geno Martini. He was a wonderful man and a great leader. He served the City of Sparks, the city in which he grew up, with great honor and distinction. My prayers are with his family. I will miss my dear friend.

The Elks Lodge #2239 held a ceremony for National Flag Day, in the City Courtyard, celebrating the history and symbolism of the American Flag. Boy Scouts Troup 1776 presented the different flags throughout history.

Congratulations to the Oasis Academy Softball team for their undefeated season and Northern 1A East championship. Mayor Tedford, Councilman Richardson, Councilwoman Frost, and Councilwoman Kent celebrated in the City Courtyard after the team and coaches dyed the City fountain.
