Fire is dark and children should practice feeling their way out of the home. You can practice in the dark, with a blindfold or with their eyes closed.

In #Michigan recently people, including children, have died in house fires because they were unable to open the windows. Make sure they can open and operate all windows and doors.

Ensure that all household members know two ways to escape from every room of your home, and where to meet up outside.

Practice your fire escape plan at least twice a year and at different times of the day. Practice waking up to smoke alarms, low crawling and meeting outside. Make sure everyone knows how to call 9-1-1.

A reminder of an upcoming event. The Grand Blanc City Fire Department and Grand Blanc City Police Department are proudly teaming up with Grand Blanc FISH to collect non perishables at the Grand Blanc High School, November 21st from 9am to 3pm.
