@ModernGrindTech@Pirat_Nation I bet you a lot of people in their late 20s/early 30s learned a lot of their computer skills because of learning how to mod Minecraft.
Plenty of non-English speakers learned English better with games.
People have also chosen their irl careers because of video games.
And so on.
@GordonKillon@Dexerto Game has space elevators, giant mothership planes, and fighters that can 180 really quickly without stalling and the first thing you question is whether or not an Air Force pilot with dyed hair is realistic.
@Alea1actaEst8@PunishedRWR Ah yes, because Germany invaded the Soviet Union and started putting people into death camps because it's all the Brits and French fault.
@BitterMarxist@SocialistTalks There were a lot of officers of the Russian Imperial Army that were career officers (aka not conscripts.) Some of them defected, some of them didnt. The Soviets also remained a lot of Tsarist elements because they also knew that getting rid of experienced men hurts them more.
@bbbidisaster @ahhhhhhvent@polyfraggrenade A lot of Northern and Central Asians also aren't lactose intolerant as well. Milk is a staple in Mongol culture for example.
@ButtercupRevo@xynifyy Continents definition has always been the "Im different from you but all of you look the same to me" logic. But yeah, Afro-Eurasia, America, Australia/Oceania, and maybe include Antarctica, makes sense.
@Mermaid_Dork@NekoKirito7 A state with absolutely no luxury goods is basically an economy run by mindlessly working in the mines, fields, and factories with not even an opportunities for cultural growth.
Even the Soviets and 1960s China still had some luxury access depending on wealth of the state.
@AlexWillows2000@RaviChand5588@mitchmapleton@VeBo1991 They dont want to acknowledge it and would rather 1984 it.
Heck, ask any modern dixiecrat or KKK members on which parties they vote for. 90% of the time its a certain elephant party.
@sirrelkinstein@USA_Polling Not true at all. FDR privately had wanted more US involvement but the isolationists at the time, were dominant in US affairs. Pretty much as soon as Japan and Germany invaded, FDR was already trying to find ways to send arms and supplies to Europe and countering Japan.
@azrielkiba@ShardikArt Tbf yeah, they have also done a pretty decent job at representing Ixian relations like immigrants during the 20th and even 21st century. I bet you a lot of Hispanic/Asian/African immigrants and 2nd gen would def relate to that Apollo and Infernus convo.
@jbp2ttd@rcondiscord@GwenpostingTTV The "good old days" type trends is a pretty common reoccurrence throughout human history as well. Even back during the late Roman Empire days, there were writers, philosophers, and artists that romanticized the earlier Roman periods.
@Slow_Mangos@xrn16@OrdinaryGamers Half of their voter base merely thinks that being trans is an existential threat to society. The doc basically confirms that the WH is prob gonna use this justification to spy on any pro trans group as a "precaution" when in reality we are just moving further into 1984.
@uncle_authority 1) US Lend Lease was a major help with supply lines shortages for both the UK and the USSR. Both Churchill and Stalin acknowledged this. War economics win wars.
2) The IJA was bayonetting babies in Nanjing if you didn't know. The US intervening during WW2 is justified.
@OssiBisZumEnde@andivperedpowr2@Frenchlet1 People forget that the USSR did and tried invading former Russian Empire lands during the Civil War, continued forced Russification of many of the Siberians, and had beef with other Communist countries that disagreed with their definitions of Marxism.
@stefceretti@Updated_Gandhi@Breaking911 Yep, all it takes is blinding a pilot for a few seconds while a pilot is making a landing and now all of the sudden 200 people are dead.
It should be taken seriously because reminder that safety laws are written in blood.
