Before his name became synonymous with a call for justice or hashtag, #GeorgeFloyd was a human being.

He was a father, a brother, a friend.

Today we think of his family and hope they're finding strength and peace.

In 2017, Mitch McConnell eliminated the filibuster for Supreme Court nominations so he could ram through Trump's right-wing nominees.

Before becoming a rap legend and a hero to generations of young people, DMX was a survivor of child abuse. He modeled what it means for men to open up about their emotional and mental health struggles.

His life and legacy will not be forgotten.

Today it's a tragedy in Boulder, Colorado. This past weekend it was a house party in Philadelphia. And last week it was an armed attack on Asian American women in the Atlanta area. It doesn't have to be this way. It’s beyond time for our leaders to take action.
