KIDS: There are a couple phenomenal hockey sense plays from Britta Curl on this goal by Team USA over Finland:
1. Awesome support on the breakout through the middle. It's a play when I was growing up coaches would bench you for trying to pass it through the middle in front of your own net. Now with the way teams forecheck, it's a play we are seeing more and more. Great support low and behind the puck so she catches it a good angle.
2. Watch as she lifts the defenders stick on the entry. It opens up the pass lane across the royal road for the one-timer goal. You're seeing more and more of this little pick at the highest levels of the game.
Great job!!
THIS is assimilating
The town Christmas Tree in Dearborn Hights Michigan didnt come. So a local Arab American Muslim businessman stepped in to save the holidays
Sam Hussien, owner of J&T Crova, Muslim business owner, donated a 40 foot Norway spruce valued at $10,000 to the city
City officials say he not only covered the cost of the tree but also made sure it was delivered and installed in time for the holiday season.
COACHES: Here's a great clip from Artemi Panarin on buying time entering the offensive zone.
He enters the zone on a 1v3. But rather than try to beat everyone 1v1 like you see all the time in youth hockey, he moves laterally to the open ice and buys time for his teammates to catch up to the play.
They end up with an odd man opportunity and capitalize with a goal.
This play is ALL about an elite hockey thinker creating time and space to allow a play to develop. A clip we should be showing all of our players!!!!!!
Nothing is stronger than the hockey community ❤️
Brad Marchand is coaching a U18 team tonight in support of his friend and trainer JP MaCullum, whose daughter passed away to cancer.
"Like Leo Messi in soccer...You have to scan the environment." Skills Coach Peter Bohunicky explains how to improve pace through controlling the puck without possession.

Tried this wall ball game with my kids today and they played for 20 straight minutes.
1 tennis ball
1 wall
Everyone wears a hat
Catch clean? You’re good.
Bobbled?
Hat turns sideways (1st out)
Hat backwards (2nd out)
Hat off (3rd out, but you can still play)
Simple. Competitive. Non-stop reps.

That guy was former Pittsburgh Pirates Outfielder, Jose Tabata. A moment this kid will never forget...
