I joined @ECOS_Official to show my support for the campaign as the Building Safety Bill returns to Parliament today.
Campaigners have already forced big concessions but we must keep fighting to ensure no leaseholder is left paying for developers' and governments' negligence.
Karim Mussilhy, who lost his uncle in the Grenfell Tower fire, has just finished giving a painful morning's evidence about the immediate aftermath of the blaze.
At the end of his evidence, he gave this speech. It is worth sharing:
Tomorrow @michaelgove will claim victory as some developers have signed a non-binding pledge.
This is NOT a victory Mr Gove.
Not for leaseholders who remain trapped for years as developers wrangle over what to remediate & for how much. Govt must fund first, fix now, collect later.
🚨 URGENT❗

Day 53 #LifeBehindMonarflex
This will be my last night in London for a couple of weeks, getting away before I lose my mind utterly. This oppressive, constantly combative environment is not healthy. A cruel infliction on honest hard-working people. Govt has *a lot* to answer for
Thrilled @nat77splat’s idea of a Code of Practice for remediation of occupied residential blocks was floated by @SMcPartland in the Commons today. A shame about the @ApsanaBegumMP & @rushanaraali no-shows. TH is most affected borough in the country by the building safety crisis.
Just received our Service charge for 2022. The average flat will be paying £6818 this year with Waking Watch and fire alarms included and BS costs. That’s £568 extra a month. How can people afford this? @team_greenhalgh@michaelgove
Today we are publishing our latest report, which looks at the #CladdingScandal through the lens of intergenerational justice.

A recent @NewStatesman poll showed that only 2% of voters believe leaseholders should have to pay the costs of fixing unsafe cladded buildings, with 32% saying the government should pay and 32% saying the developer of the building should pay.
New: A peer and former Paralympian has questioned the appointment of firm to write fire guidance, citing its director’s comments about disabled residents on an online forum

Michael Gove gives cladding manufacturers March deadline to come up with a plan to pay to fix dangerous tower blocks. ‘There is no future for those companies and directors not committed…to fixing past wrongs.’ Details of letter to @CPA_Tweets below.
Three big cladding and insulation firms have made over £700m profit since the Grenfell tragedy. The sector must pay their fair share to fix the crisis they contributed to. The government will take action if they don't.

We echo @PBottomleyMP's words 👇
Without the calm persistence of @SMcPartland@Royston_Smith, we would never have got this far
We're grateful & please keep going!
A million thank yous to all MPs working cross-party in the best interest of leaseholders 🙏
