Have you ever wanted to see what the Aurora would look like when the sun rises over the horizon, but doesn't quite hit your location?

Well... Here you go!

Earth's shadow allows for the red Aurora pillars to exist but in direct sunlight aloft, the red becomes pink/lavender and this creates a "shadow" edge along the Aurora pillars. Seeing this color with the naked eye was ridiculous. The sun rose a little over an hour after this shot.
