A Palestinian family bids farewell to 112 of its members—most of them children—killed by Israel and recovered from beneath the rubble over the past few days.
I apologize for disturbing you. I just wanted to let you know that we are still trapped under bombardment, suffering from hunger, thirst, and the unbearable heat in Gaza. I sincerely apologize again for the disturbance.
Qatar, Egypt and Turkiye have issued a joint statement expressing their “strong condemnation and denunciation” of ongoing Israeli violations of last year’s ceasefire in Gaza, especially the attacks on healthcare facilities.

They are all our children. Look what we’ve allowed happen to them.
The genocidal apartheid regime are doing it and the ‘West’ are their cheerleaders.
And our silence permits it.

Turned up at 31-years-old. Played Champions League football for the first time in his career. Became a Premier League champion.
One year well spent.
Thank you, Christian. ❤️
I never met him. Never knew him. Not a cousin, not a friend, not blood. And yet today, his loss made my heart ache like I’d lost my own.
Damn. I still can’t believe he’s gone.
Nims Dai, @nimsdai Nirmal Purja, the man who taught a whole generation that “giving up isn’t in the blood, sir.”The man who kept saying “hope is God” even when the mountain gave him every reason to turn back.
I watched 14 Peaks and something in me shifted. I read “Beyond Possible” and carried his words with me. He never knew my name, and he never had to that’s the strange, beautiful thing about people like him. They pour so much fire into the world that even strangers catch light from it.
He climbed into the death zone and came back smiling, again and again, until today, when the Himalaya finally kept him.
Rest in glory, Nims Dai. You, Yukta, and Nima, and every soul lost on Broad Peak.
You showed us that nothing is impossible. Now show the mountains up there the same.
The Himalaya remembers her own. 🙏🏔️

The world has lost a man who redefined what is possible. Nirmal Purja, or Nims, was a bright light of inspiration to countless people. In the Brigade of Gurkhas we are proud to call him one of our own. But his achievements belong to none of us, because it was he himself who showed us that the easy path is not the one that leads to achievement. He died on Broad Peak in Pakistan in a tragic accident that also took the lives of others from around the world, all mountaineers united in the spirit of challenge and human endeavour. We mourn them all. But we also celebrate remarkable lives, and none more so than that of Nims. A soldier, a Gurkha, a mountaineer, a husband, a father, a son and a brother. You have shown us a path - we must rise to your example. Rest in peace Nims.
Major General Gez Strickland (Colonel Commandant the Brigade of Gurkhas).

“Every man dies. Not every man really lives”.
They used to ask “who inspires you”. I mentioned this guy. No-one knew him back then. Now everyone knows him. A collusus of mountaineering. Gutted. What a human. @nimsdai
